School’s out, brother is graduated and awaiting his first year at Michigan State University (the alma mater of my sister and myself) and I have ventured out of Fort Wayne and the world of ballerinas to work at Camp Daggett in Petoskey, Michigan.
It has been five years since a stint here as a counselor, and this year I am taking over as Nature Director. Basically, I’ll be lesson planning and leading games and hikes that push campers to learn about and appreciate the outdoors. It’s a leap from teaching English and social studies in the classroom, but I am elated to be spending the summer with a great staff and hundreds of kiddos.
Updates, as few and far between as they are, will happen through the summer. Up next is another divergence: A review of the preview of The Art of War by Kelly Roman and Michael DeWeese.
